DAY 01: PHUENTSHOLLING ARRIVALL

On Arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri, Guest will be received by our executive, who will be waiting just outside of the Airport or Railway Station or Bus Station. He will assist guest to board the vehicle to proceed for Phuentsholling. The drive is of 165 kilometers i.e. 04 to 04 ½ hour’s drive through the lush green Tea Estate of Dooars - On arrival at Phuentsholling, Check in at Hotel. Phuentsholling is the border of India & Bhutan, the Indian side is known as Jaigaon and the Bhutan part is called Phuentsholling - Situated at an altitude of nearly 980 feet is a small settlement – Night stay at Hotel at either Phuentsholling or Jaigaon.

DAY 02: PHUENTSHOLLING - PARO

Permit to be obtained and Transfer to Paro – Drive 175 kilometers in 06 ½ – 07 hours. This beautiful City of Bhutan is situated at an altitude of nearly 2250 meters / 7382 feet. Paro is a beautiful Valley encapsulates the rich culture, scenic beauty with hundreds of Myths and Legends - Home too many of Bhutan’s oldest Temples and Monasteries. On arrival at Paro, you will be transferred to Hotel - Evening take a stroll around Town & Main Street - Overnight stay at Hotel in Paro.

DAY 03: PARO SIGHTSEEING

Morning take an excursion to Taktsang Monastery, also known as Tiger Nest - It is believed that Guru Rinpoche, the father of the Bhutanese strain of Mahayana Buddhism, arrived here on the back of a tigress and meditated at this Monastery - Taktsang was severely damaged by fire in year 1998 and now has been restored in its original grandeur - After lunch, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum - The Museum collection includes Ancient Bhutanese art and artifacts, weapons and Country’s exquisite Postage Stamps - Then walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong situated at commanding height, overlooking Paro Valley - This Dzong is symbolic as the religious and secular centre of all affairs of the valley - Evening visit a traditional farm house to get an idea on lifestyle of local people - Overnight stay at Hotel in Paro.

DAY 04: EXCURSION TO CHELE LA PASS - (3988 METERS / 13084 FEET)

After Breakfast, proceed to Chele La (Pass). Chele La (Pass) is situated at an elevation 3988 meters is considered to be one of the highest motor able passes in Bhutan – It is nearly 35 Kilometers and about an Hour later from Paro - About an Hour's drive along a thickly - forested road is a Botanical paradise. The Pass provides stunning views of the sacred Mountain Jomolhari and Jichu Drake - Made all the more mysterious and beautiful with its abundance of prayer flags - Guest can witness the cascades of wild roses; purple and yellow primulas; and swathes of deep blue iris covering the forest floor. Later return back to Paro. On arrival at Paro, Guest can spend the rest of the day by shopping or simply walking through the town or relax – Overnight stay at Hotel in Paro.

(Day 04 Optional Tour - Drive on to Haa (2700 meters / 8900 feet) - descending all the way for another 22 Kilometers nearly an hour’s drive to Haa. The Haa Dzong view from outside is stunning. One can also visit to the famous Monastery of Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) followed by visit to Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple) – Three hours drive back to Paro).

DAY 05: PARO- PUNAKHA

(125 kilometers, 04 hours) - After Breakfast, Check-Out from Hotel in Paro and proceed to Punakha. An amazing drive to ruins of Drukgyel Dzong - From this fortress, Bhutanese repelled several invading Tibetan Armies during the 17th Century. Then visit Kyichu Lhakhang - one of the oldest and most Sacred Temples of the Kingdom, reflecting the introduction of Buddhism in Bhutan - Next drive to Punakha across Dochu La Pass (3080 Meters), which heralds the most enchanting views of Bhutan - Until 1955, Punakha served as the Capital of Bhutan and still it is the Winter Seat of Je Khenpo - Visit Punakha Dzong built in 17th Century at the junction of Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu Rivers. It has been destroyed by four fires and an earthquake in 1897 and has frequently been devastated by flood water coming from the great Northern Glaciers. The Dzong has now been fully restored to its original splendor. Evening visit local market and overnight stays at the Hotel in Punakha.

DAY 06: PUNAKHA -WANGDUE PHODRANG - THIMPHU

After Breakfast, Check-Out from the Hotel in Punakha and drive to Wangdue Phodrang. Wangdue is typical small Bhutanese Town - The town's formidable Dzong is its most visible feature - In the 17th Century, Wangdue played a critical role in unifying the Western, Central and Southern Bhutanese Districts. After Lunch, drive to Thimphu (90 Kilometers, 03 Hours) - a small charming City sandwiched in the heart of Himalayas. Thimphu's charm is not only embedded in its wealth of Museums or places of historic interest but visitors must wander along the main street and into shops, all of which are decorated in traditional style – Check-In at Hotel in Thimphu. Evening leisure time and overnight stays at Hotel in Thimphu.

DAY 07: THIMPHU SIGHTSEEING

After Breakfast, proceed for Thimphu Sightseeing. Morning visit Trashichhoedzong, situated on the banks of Wang Chhu. It is home of the National Assembly and the summer residence of Capital's venerated monastic community. The Dzong is the impressive result of a redesign of the original medieval structure sanctioned by the Third King, HM Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Then visit Bhutan's National Library, The Textile and Folk Heritage Museum opened in year 2001 is fascinating testimony of the Bhutanese material culture and living traditions - The Memorial Chhorten, a pious landmark for Thimphu's residents. Visit Handicrafts Emporium which displays wide assortment of beautifully hand-woven and crafted products. Overnight stays at Hotel in Thimphu.

DAY 08: THIMPHU - PHUENTSHOLLING (179 KILOMETERS, 06 - 07 HOURS)

After Breakfast, Check Out from the Hotel in Thimphu and proceed to Phuentsholling. En Route visit Simtokha Dzong - the oldest fortress of the Kingdom built in 1627, which now houses the School for Buddhist Studies. Thimphu - Phuentsholling road was built in 1962 by Dantak -The Indian Border Road Organization. The drive on this route is very pleasant with numerous scenic spots. Just before, arriving Phuentsholling, visit Kharbandi Goemba, the Monastery built in 1967. It houses the large and attractive statues of Sakyamuni, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rinpoche. Transferred to Hotel and overnight stays in Phuentsholling.

DAY 09: PHUENTSHOLLING DEPARTURE

After Breakfast, Check Out from the Hotel in Phuentsholling and proceed to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri for your Return Journey.
