DAY 01: OSLO ARRIVAL– SVOLAER


On arrival at Oslo Airport, take connection flight to Svolvær, capital of the Lofoten Islands. You will be transferred to your Hotel in Svolaer.

The Island Kingdom of Lofoten & Vesterålen is one of the most beautiful regions of Norway, located 123 miles north of the Arctic Circle with a population of 3.000 spread out among the many Islands. The summer brings the Midnight Sun from the middle of May to the end of July. Overnight stays in Svolaer.

DAY 02: SVOLAER

This morning is free for optional tour:

Join "Explore the Trollfjord" Safari at either 11:30 or at 14:00. The tour goes through Øyhellsundet and to Trollfjorden. On the way back you will pass Digermulen, Ulvågan, Lillemolla, Skjoldværan, Skråva and Kabelvåg before returning to Svolvær.

The organizers reserve the right to transfer enrolled passengers to the next departure in cases where less than 3 participants turn up. Trips may be cancelled at short notice due to climatic or other conditions that are beyond control. New schedules will then be set up. Overnight stays in Svolaer.

DAY 03: SVOLAER - BERGEN


You will be transferred to Svolvær Airport, Helle from Hotel by Morning to fly from Svolvær to Bergen. Check in at the hotel in Bergen and spend rest of the day at leisure. You may take one hour relaxed harbor cruise and see the city at its best. Explore the city on your own. Overnight stays in Bergen.

DAY 04: BERGEN

After Breakfast, take Bergen Fjord Cruise. Attractive Bergen – 'Gateway to the Fjords' is Norway's second city. It has a delightful natural setting, with seven imposing mountains surrounding it on three sides and the island-dotted North Sea on the fourth. This trip offers a wonderful insight into the famous Norwegian fjords. Carved by huge glaciers, the fjords can only be truly appreciated from the water. This cruise will take you to the fjord area surrounding Bergen, passing Askoy, Herdiatfjord, Sorfjord, Osterfjord, and Vikanes. See mighty mountains towering over the narrow waterways and scenery which will provide lasting memories of your visit to the area. Overnight stays in Bergen.

DAY 05: BERGEN – FLAM

Transfer from your hotel to Bergen Railway Station by your own. Taking the Bergen Railway from Bergen to Myrdal at 08:40 and arrive in Myrdal at 10:46. Change trains and get on the Flåm Railway. The Flåm Railway departs from Mydral at 10:55 with arrival in Flam at 11:50. Or, take the train from Bergen at 10:28 with arrival Myrdal 12:20 and then continue on the Flåm railway at 13:27-14:25 to Flåm.

This amazing railway is unique in the world, no other adhesion - type railway is steeper than the Flåm Railway. It is an example of some of the most daring and skilful engineering in Norwegian railway history. Go past wild and beautiful snow capped mountains, fertile pastures and wonderful views of some of Western-Norway's most beautiful fjord and mountain scenery. Arrive and take a short walk from the Railway Station to your hotel in Flam. Overnight stays in Flam.

DAY 06: FLAM – GUDVANGEN - FJAERLAND

Today take the boat from Flåm to Gudvangen at 09:00 and arrive Gudvangen at 11:10. In Gudvangen, you will have free time before you continue by boat at 12:00 to Kaupanger and arrive there at 14:10. Enjoy a 02 hour cruise on the narrow Nærøy and Sognefjord. The Nærøyfjord is an arm of the Sognefjord. The 17 km long Nærøyfjord is one of the most spectacular and impressive fjords in the world. It is very narrow and constricted since it is surrounded by 1700 meter high mountains on both sides. The Nærøyfjord has now been included on UNESCO's World Heritage List. Continue on the Sognefjord, the longest and deepest fjord in the world and enjoy the scenery all the way to Kaupanger. Go on the ferry in Gudvangen while the bus will drive round and meet you at Kaupanger where you disembark.

Take a bus from Kaupanger to Sogndal. Change the bus there and get on the bus taking you to Fjærland. Overnight stays in Fjærland.

DAY 07: FJAERLAND - LOEN

In the morning, depart by bus (seat in coach - public) from your hotel to the Glacier Museum. Continue to Supphellebreen and then further to Bøyabreen before returning to the Glacier Museum. The landscape in Fjærland has been shaped by glaciers through successive ice ages during the last 2.5 to 3 million years. Towering mountains and U-shaped valleys surround large delta areas. The glaciers Bøyabreen and Supphellebreen come down to the valley floor in Fjærland. These are branches of Jostedalsbreen - the largest glacier on the European continent (487 km²).

From Fjærland continue by bus (seat in coach - public) to Skei. Change busses here and get on a bus taking you to Loen (seat in coach - public). Overnight stays in Loen.

DAY 08: LOEN

Today you will go to the Briksdals glacier by bu. It departs from Loen in the morning for Briksdals. You will go by Trollcars up to the glacier before returning to Loen (this is not a private excursion but with seat in coach). Overnight stays in Loen.

DAY 09: LOEN - HELLESYLT - GEIRANGER

Board the public bus from Loen to Hellesylt for 01 hour ferry crossing to Geiranger. During the cruise you will see some of Norway's most famous waterfalls, including the 'Seven Sisters', the 'Bridal Veil' and the 'Suitor'. Geirangerfjord is on the UNESCO`s world heritage list. On arrival in Geiranger visit the surrounding areas preferably in a private vehicle with driver before heading to your hotel. Overnight stays in Geiranger.

DAY 10: GEIRANGER - ANDALSNES


A car with private driver will take you from Geiranger up the Eagles Road to Eidsdal for a short ferry crossing to Linge. Arrive Linge and drive down the famous Trollstigen Road to Åndalsnes. Overnight stays in Åndalsnes.

DAY 11: ANDALSNES - ALESUND

Depart on the beautiful Rauma Railway from Åndalsnes at 09:13 and arrive Dombås at 10:55. The Wildlife Safaris are a must in Dombås. You may wish to visit the National Park Centre at Dombås. In this area you can find a nearly intact high mountain ecosystem, with wild reindeer, wolverine, arctic fox and golden eagle. There are lots of moose in the forests, and a tribe of musk ox. From Dombås and arrive in Alesund via Åndalsnes on your own by bus. Transfer from the bus station or a cab to your hotel.

Ålesund town is young at heart, but with an unusually dramatic story to tell. A hundred years ago, the town centre burned to the ground. Only a few houses survived the devastation and ten thousand people were made homeless. A new town rose phoenix-like from the ashes – in the distinctive Art Nouveau style with myriad turrets, spires and beautiful ornamentation, like something from a fairytale. Today, the town is a modern, pulsating town. Overnight stays in Alesund.

DAY 12: ALESUND DEPARTURE


After breakfast, you can proceed to Ålesund Airport. You can either take the Airport bus or a taxi to the Airport for your return journey.
